Staying Busy

Just wanted to check in and say we are are still doing great, just busy and not a lot of time to update!  I am taking 3 classes this semester, Brandon is taking one, Cody is being homeschooled, and Brice and I go to Mommy and Me once a week, so everyone is learning something!!  Last weekend Brandon and I were able to go to a base in Germany for the Air Force Ball.  It was so nice to be able to dress up and not be in a uniform.

Brandon had to update his ribbon rack with a Commendation and with a bronze star for receiving marksman a couple more times.  It looks like he will be sewing on Tech Sergeant in January, so he'll need to update the stripes!

Last night I took two of my friends with me to see Tops In Blue.  It was a nice surprise to see the Director, his assistant, and the music director were all over here with the team.  They rarely all travel together and it was so nice to see them all.  I was more emotional that I have been at past shows, I think because it does make a difference being over here and away from everything that is comfortable and familier.  The show was fun and amazing and I'm so glad I drove the hour and a half to see it.

I'm starting to work on planning Cody's birthday party and our anniversary.  Time is going by way to fast, and September will be over before we know it.  I can't believe we have been here a year already, the next 3 are going to fly by.

This weekend is another busy one, friday night there is a party at the club we are going to, Saturday I am taking a CPR class, Saturday night I am hosting Give Parents a Break, and Sunday will be finishing up homework.  Hopefully we can squeeze in a movie on Sunday, we've been trying to do that every week while Brice takes his nap.

I really would just like to go back to bed but we need to do school and then go to the Spouse Luncheon and have a play date.  Every Thursday we are going to be getting together with the two other homeschooling families so the kids can play and we can talk to adults!  Have a great day!!

Happy Belated Birthday!

I had an amazing day on my birthday, great presents, great family and a finally dance class.  I still don't know what my 28 things are going to be this year, but I guess I can start a list.

My biggest goal this year is to finish as much school as I can.  Brandon and  I are both going to school, but he can only take one class at a time to max out his tuition assistance.  I am taking two or three at a time overlapping, because three is hard to keep up with.  So here are the plans for the next 12 months:

1. Finish 30 credit hours
2. Go to Paris
3. Read 50 books (6 done so far)
4. Watch 50 movies (4 done so far)
5. Spend a week at Eidelweiss and go to the crystal museum
6. Run a half marathon
7. Lose 9 pounds (1 down...)
8. Potty train Brice
9. Catch Cody up on school

Most of the other things I want to accomplish this year include traveling and taking weekend trips to places.  As busy as we are going to be we will need them to recharge!

Almost 27

I stole this idea from my friend Krystal.  She has an awesome blog located here.  Like most of my friends this year, I can't believe I am going to be 27.  This is one step closer to 30 wich at this point I am dreading.  I have many friends that are in their 30s, and I saw my sister turn 30 and they are perfectly fine.  But for me, I can not wrap my head around it.  And 27 is only 3 years away from that dreaded number.

So the idea is to see what I have done this past year, and make a list for the next year.  Here's my list from being 26:

1. Spent my 26th birthday in San Diego

2. Ate ice cream cake

3. Quit my job

4. Visited my grandparents in Idaho

5. Saw my aunt for the 1st time in 8 (?) years

6. Traveled to Washington (my family)

7. Traveled to Oregon (Brandon's family)

8. Traveled to San Diego (the rest of B's family)

9. Moved to Europe

10. Watched a WWII reenactment

11. Enrolled in dance classes

12. Continued college

13. Went to London

14. Rode a ferry

15. Took Brice to mommy and me class

16. Went to Germany for Cody’s Birthday

17. Made brownies from scratch

18. Dyed my hair (a couple of times)

19. Went on a cruise

20. Made awesome and amazing new friends

21. Started going to Zumba

22. Lost weight

23. Got a massage

24. Got a facial

25. Fell in love with Donerix but then they closed :(

26. Spent a day in Amsterdam

Looking back it has been a very eventful year.  Now I need to start working on the list for next year, I only have 10 days to figure it out!  I hope it includes lots of traveling :)

10 Things I Love About Cruising

10. Someone makes your bed for you, everyday. And twice a day.

9.  The shows
8.  You walk in your room and find adorable towel animals

7.  Food

6.  Waterslides and heated pools

5.  Happy people!

4.  More Food

3.  You wake up in the morning and there's nothing you HAVE to do

2.  There's plenty of time to take a nap

1.  And.....the FOOD.

I ate so much food and desserts that I gained 4.5 pounds.  Hopefully it comes off just as fast. I love how you can try new things you've never had, and order 3 desserts if you want to try them all.  Our waiters were even bringing us dessert we didn't ask for!

*This post is about 3 weeks late!!  But oh well.  More cruise pictures are coming!

Farm Field Trip

Brice's class went on a field trip last week to learn about the animals.  There are farms all over this place, and this one you  couldn't even tell from the outside.  It just looks like someone's house.  I think the cows are his favorite.  And the tractor of course.

He said 'mama, snot.' after taking this

Keukenhof

There's a park near Amsterdam called Keukenhof that is just FULL of all kinds of flowers.  It's one of those places you have to see to believe.  We didn't even see the whole park so next year we will have to go on a day with better weather.  They are only open from the mid April to mid May.

Dance Dance Revolution

Pictures from my first dance recital!  The big recital is in July.

Normandy

Last month Brandon went on a trip witth the base to Normandy.  He said Omaha beach is so much bigger than it's portrayed as in movies.  It's so massive.  I'm hoping we can do the same trip next year when Brandon's parents come, Brandon will just be our tour guide.  There's also a dvd of the tour that we can watch on the way down there so we know what's going on.   I think the pictures can tell more than I can!

Birthday Boy

Happy Valentines Day and Happy Birthday to Brice!  I can't believe he's 2 already, this time has flown by so fast.  Only two more years and he will be going to Dutch school.

Saturday we had a birthday party for him, Elmo themed of course.  My friend Heidi made yummy cupcakes and my friend Annie was able to be here to help celebrate.  Brice was so excited when he woke up from his nap and there was Elmo and balloons all over our house!
