Splashdown in Spokane Valley

It has taken awhile to post these because the internet is not being my friend lately.  Last Thursday we were able to go to the waterpark.  We all loved it.  I was afraid I would get stuck with Brice the whole time on the baby slide and have no fun but I was wrong.  The kid part actually had 4 slides and a decent size end of slide pool.  Brandon would send him down and I would catch him at the bottom.  Same thing with Ella.  Cody and Hunter stayed on the kid slides for awhile too, and then went with my dad and Brandon on the big slides.

Brice was shivering after a little bit so he cuddled in a towel with Nana and Aunt Kacey, and Brandon and I went on a couple of slides together.  When we got off, he realized his watch wasn't on and we couldn't remember if he was wearing it.  We checked the camera to look at the pictures from when we first got there and he WAS wearing it, so somewhere along the way it fell off.  We couldn't figure out HOW it fell off since it has one of those locking clasps, and we figured we'd never see it again because if someone found it they would keep it instead of turning it in to lost and found.

We walked around the pool at the bottom of the slides and could only see leaves that were floating in there.  My dad got in and started at one end looking under the water and made his way to the other end.  Finally when he reached the end he thought he saw something.  He reached down and found the watch!  It had broken near the face, the pin was bent, and a whole piece is missing so it can't be put back together, but at least it was found!  It was Brandon's present from high school graduation so he's had it a long time and it's special.

We stayed about 3.5 hours.  Here are some pictures.

We were supposed to go the water park but since it was all cloudy and not 90 degrees like it was supposed to be, we went to the park.  We will try to go on Thursday.

Finally made it!

Well we finally hit the road! And what better way to start a trip than with a 12 drive straight through. Unfortunately we couldn’t leave ABQ until after our appointment with TMO which didn’t end until around 11. On the way we stopped in Four Corners since I have wanted to go there for as long as I can remember. They are building a new monument so we weren’t actually able to go on it but we could walk in a circle and go into all 4 states. The old monument was in the wrong spot this whole time.

We got into Idaho around 12:30 am, and didn’t get to bed until after 1 in the morning. Luckily Grandma and Grandpa had beds all set up for us and we got to get right in them! That was Friday. Saturday morning I got up early (well we all did) and I rode in the van with Grandma to take Aunt Billie to the airport. That was better than not seeing her at all even though it was only about 2 hours. The rest of the day we just hung out, the boys played out in the yard and chased the kitties, and Grandma took Cody to a carnival for Pioneer Day and he got his face painted and got to play some games.  Brandon also took Cody out on the 4 wheeler for a few rides. We were going to stay up for fireworks but went to bed early instead.

Our original plan was to stay 3 nights but could only stay for 2 because we had to cut the trip down. Sunday we just hung out some more and left at 11 to head to Washington on a 9 hour drive.

May 2010

Sorry it's been over a month since posting anything new, so here are a few updates of what we've been up to.

There's a cool park on base by the McDonald's that Cody loves, so one day we killed time there.  They had so much fun playing together.

It was also Brice's 1st time on a swing and the day I got my hair cut and colored.

A couple weeks later was our first camping trip as a family and the first time for the boys. Cody even slept in his own tent.

We've been trying to stay busy and not be too stressed out about everything going on.  Of course being busy leads to being tired!  Cody sleeps way more than Brice does.  I think today is the first time in awhile that Brice has actually taken 2 naps on the weekend and he's sleeping pretty hard.  Cody has been passing out on his bed around 7:30, way before anyone else goes to bed.  He's counting down the days until he gets to come visit everyone.

Baseball!!!

Recently my company decided to lease a suite at the Isotopes Baseball Park here in Albuquerque.  We were fortunate to be able to go to one of the first home games.  It was funny because a few days before we went, Brandon had just explained baseball to Cody and how it worked.  He was so excited.  We were the first ones to show up so we took some pictures, and the suite manager had the mascot, Orbit, come up to see the kids.  Cody keeps asking when we get to go back!

These were taken with Brandon's phone so they're not the greatest, but you get the idea!  Unfortunately Brandon got really sick the next day, we're thinking it may have been the saaurkraut from the hot dogs.  It was his first time having it.
